No FOOD CHAIN movement.

Everybody knows term 'FOOD CHAIN', the subject is taught in schools and popularized in many articles. I offer to abandon the term as dangerously misleading.

This epoch requires new way of thinking with orientation on sustainability and care for our planet. Term chain means that there are 'ends': producer-consumer, or prey-predator. This is very wrong representation although very appealing and widespread (homo-sapiens is king of nature). Nature cycle has no beginning or end. Upon death of a predator its body becomes food for insects and bacteria. Therefore we are dealing with ring or better say very complex net.

Why change the term? Our speech patterns directly affect the way we think and as we need to change orientation of our thinking we need to change our speech to make it clear and unambiguous.

Every single human on the planet should understand that there is no such thing as ‘environment’. We are inseparable from so called Environment and we are part of the very complex and fragile structure.

This task of changing human’s collective behavior on planetary scale is very complicated endeavor, which might be accomplished by means of enlightenment only. So lets start simple – lets correct obviously wrong speech patterns and educate people on the way.

Things to do:

• Stop using ‘Food Chain’ term today and always say ‘Food Web ’, also correct speech of others;
• Spread the word: Write and publish articles on the topic, talk to people;
• Come up with catchy slogan and ‘No Food Chain’ logo;
• Produce ‘No Food Chain’ logo merchandize: t-shirts, caps, etc.
• Eventually replace term “Food Chain’ in school books by ‘Food Web ’;
• Write about your ideas;
