Over the long weekend we were staying at 14th mile on native americans land. Learned that there are not only tasty watermelons in Canada, but also that there is plenty of cacti! On a hike we explored remnants of a village and by the creek found a cache of gold panning equipment that was not used for a few weeks, judging by the strong smell of decomposing flesh we cannot rule out that it might be an unlucky prospector who did not check with the locals first. Lots of coyotes, rodents, and bears!
