Day started at a checkpoint announcing that use of satellite phones is prohibited (getting closer to Pakistani border), then started climbing the Gata loops (22 hairpin bends) at 4,190 m (13,750 ft) elevation, and then passed Lachung La pass at 5,065 m (16,616 ft). Now we are riding really high: no trees or brushes, just raw Earth
