After watching sunset at Upheaval Dome I had a hard time finding a place to sleep in the dark because it is NP and camping allowed only at designated campgrounds. Luckily a guy I asked if he saw open spots on a third campground I stopped offered me to share his spot, turns out that he was also traveling solo and we spend evening gazing at the starry sky and lazily chatting about places we visited and plans. Next morning I jumped on a bike early to make it to Phoenix by evening. Still, could not resist a little detour to ride through Valley Of The Gods, stop by to photograph 'Mexican Hat' rock, and snap mandatory photo of Monument Valley (although it was hazy and very windy day)
